Del’s Electronics is a team of highly motivated individuals dedicated to satisfying the ever-changing needs and desires of our customers in consumer electronics. We strive to improve the economic well being and quality of life of all those who have a stake in the success of the business by maintaining an acceptable profit level in order to guarantee continued growth. Our goal is to achieve the highest level of customer service possible and to bring new technology to our market place.
History
Del's Electronics began as a television repair shop and has grown into a major dealer of consumer electronics.
In 1971, Del Frederking purchased the Fred Wallace Company, a television repair shop located at 1859 South Ninth Street in Salina, Kansas. He expanded the business to also sell Magnavox TV's, renaming the business Del's Magnavox which became Del's TV and Tape Center when the business grew to include sales of 8-track tapes, cassettes, LP's and 8-track car stereos.
The business contined to grow. In 1977, 3000 square feet were added to the building in order to accommodate the addition of products such as VCRs, more televisions, and home audio.
Video rentals came next. In 1987, Del's sons, Tim and Dan, bought Del's movie inventory and opened Del's Video View next door to Del's TV and Tape Center. Five years later, Del's Service Department moved to that location to acquire more sales room at the store.
In 1988 when Del retired, Tim and Dan purchased the business. The Frederkings have continued the successful tradition their father started and have all the latest and greatest consumer electronics.
After 28 years at the original location, the business was moved to a new location. This 13,500 square foot facility located at 2770 South Ninth Street, Salina, Kansas, was custom-built for Del's Electronics in 1999. It houses state-of-the-art displays for Home and Mobile Electronics and car accessories as well as a full service department.
Del's Electronics employs a full staff of 15 people including 2 Service Technicians and 3 Installation Technicians. The Service Techs service everything from car audio to home components to big screen televisions. The Installation Technicians specialize in all car electronics, home and commercial automation installations, and window tinting for mobile, home, and commercial applications.
Del's Electronics is a 2nd generation business that's been in Salina for 36 years. The secret to their success is a knowledgeable staff, state-of-the-art equipment, and outstanding customer service.
